Weekend before Christmas

We had been waiting for this weekend for some time now. Saturday morning we were to decide whether go to Guincho or Costa. After much conversation online we decided to go to Carcavelos. Don't quite know why actually...

Quintão has the flu or something like that, so he didn't come surfing, but decided to come along and take some pictures. The rest of the guy were present: Me, Gusy, Nuno and Bujas. The sea wasn't that good. We arrived around 10:15 at Carcavelos. The tide would be rising till 12 o'clock. The waves were small, around 0.5m, not enough strength, so the surf wasn't that good. We caught loads of waves none the less. Gusy was well into it, with his 7'2 he was catching everything that resembled a wave. Nuno and Bujas were catching some as well, Nuno managed to stand on a couple which is wicked! I caught a good hand full of them, but I took my 6'10 semente from '91 shaped like a shortboard, and it wasn't the best choice for these waves.

Around the time we left some bigger waves were starting to show, but we were too tiered to continue. This was around 13:30.

Quintão stayed on the beach taking some pictures of us surfing (or so I though) but apparently he was taking pictures of every girl on the beach.... and we ended up in about 20 photos of the 200 he took... So although we caught around 20 good waves each we got pictures fo us surfing 2 or 3 of the shittiest waves of the day!

Still, here are some photos of saturday (the one of Gusy is quite a good picture tho...) :

Me, on a shitty wave:

Nuno, about to catch a proper one:

A random girl (we got around 50 photos of her... So if you are reading this blog and you are that girl ... I believe Quintao wants to know you a bit better...) ... but it you look closely, the two dudes on the far right of the picture are me and Gusy ...

Shit weekend

So, this weekend, at least for me there was no surf going on at all. Several reasons, the sea was frigin huge on friday (which was again a national holiday over here), I was feeling depressed as hell, so stayed most of the weekend on my bed, sleeping, reading and watching Tv.

Just got around to check the report for today and it as 1m with good conditions at Carcavelos, so I'm even more depressed, I though it was still going to be huge today... aparently not so!

Diogo just came back from his road trip around Europe, Gustavo went to his home town and got some wicked pictures from Praia do Norte ... and that is about it!

Getting pretty cold around here now aswell. Feels like winter finally. Yesterday went to Praia das Maçãs for the evening for some coffe, pretty nice actaully. Haven't been there for quite some time. Don't have any pictures of it, but it was night time anyway... so not much to see. We took some roads in the middle of Sintra with my big truck, which was frigin sweet! Next time I'll take my camera and record a bit of the journey, it was like out of a Tim Burton movie... really cool!

Next, some shoots from Praia do Norte during this weekend:

People gettin' hammered

One of the funniest videos I've seen of people getting pretty much hammered:

Rp

The Sea is rising

Been checking the beachcams and the sea is rising. Getting pretty mental actually. Guincho, Caparica and Praia Grand showing 2m sets, entering from all over the place, not looking too good. Carcavelos is showing 1.5m sets, and although the report says it has poor conditions, from the beachcam it looks quite decent.

Now for some videos. Check out this one:

A new 4 day week.

So I just took a bit of my afternoon to quickly post some stuff.
Felling depressed as f*ck... the sea is ruff today. But apparently Carcavelos is producing 1m sets that look pretty good on the beachcam, but we are stuck at the office.

I was going to try to search for some cool videos at youtube to post here... but I'm not feeling that good right now. I really wanted to go surfing right now...

Also, I've just come to realise I really do hate working in IT...

Friday .... finally ....

So yeah, today in PuertoLand (Portugal) is a national holiday (The day we got our independence from the Spanish people)... so we all went surfing!

Last night I think all of us got a late night, so getting up this morning was a biatch. Around 10:30 got a phone call from Nuno, who was sort of still asleep. I called Gusy (who according to him, was already up at the computer checking the beachcams) and we decided to go check out Caparica.

Caparica was cool, some 1m sets coming in, and some smaller ones as well. Pretty lined up the sets, not much crowd, almost no wind whatsoever. That said, the waves were perfect, could've been a bit more hollow but apart from that, it was just perfect.... much much better than being at the office working.

I think Gusy got a couple of pictures from the place and from all of us. I'll post them later. I also got a shitty video of Nuno passing by the truck on his bike. I'll try to upload that one as well.
